Job Description:
Your new company
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an independent, expanding, family-run accountancy practice based in Doncaster. The firm is known for its warm, personal approach and long-standing client relationships, offering a friendly working environment where every team member is valued. They deliver high-quality, partner-led services across accounts, tax, and advisory work. Their clients range from local owner-managed businesses to growing SMEs, and they pride themselves on providing proactive, tailored support.
Your new role
This role is ideal for someone with solid practice experience who enjoys working closely with clients and being part of a supportive, collaborative team. You will manage a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery across a range of sectors.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts
*Preparing financial statements for limited companies under FRS 102, with full working paper files for manager and partner review
*Preparing corporation tax computations
*Preparing personal tax computations
*Preparing self-assessment tax returns
*Processing VAT returns and HMRC tax returns
*VAT and bookkeeping work for larger clients
*Preparing P11Ds
*Preparing Tax reports
*Assisting clients with monthly and quarterly management accounts
*Ensuring compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS, Companies Act 2006, and relevant tax legislation
*Managing client queries and maintaining strong client relationships across a varied portfolio
What you’ll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you should have a minimum of three years’ experience working within a UK accountancy practice, with hands-on experience managing client relationships. You will be qualified, part-qualified ACA or ACCA, or qualified by experience. You will have strong experience preparing accounts for limited companies as well as for sole traders and partnerships. You should also have experience preparing corporation tax computations, personal tax returns, VAT returns, and HMRC submissions. A solid working knowledge of cloud accounting software is essential.
The ideal candidate will be friendly, approachable, and able to build strong client relationships. You will be highly organised with excellent attention to detail, able to work independently within a small team environment, and committed to delivering exceptional service. A proactive and reliable approach is essential.
What you’ll get in return
In return, the practice offers a family-run environment where you are more than just a number. The practice is now looking to add to their team because of continued growth and an exceptionally busy client portfolio. You will be joining a friendly, supportive, family-run environment where your contribution is genuinely valued. The firm offers a stable, long-term role with a varied workload, strong technical exposure, and a collaborative atmosphere. You will benefit from supportive leadership, ongoing professional development, and a competitive salary and benefits package.
Doncaster | Salary £40,000+ depending on your experience, office-based but with flexible working options.
