Finance Assistant (Revenue & Reporting) – Hybrid Working
Hybrid working – one day per week in the office on average
Location: Reading (with regular travel)
Calling sports fans! We are looking for a confident and proactive Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant to support month-end revenue reporting, invoicing, and reconciliations within a commercial, multi-site environment.
This is a new and exciting hybrid finance role, offering the opportunity to work onsite (approximately every second week) at two of the most iconic sporting venues in the South of England, alongside monthly travel to a Central London office. You will be required to have your own car; all mileage and travel expenses will be fully reimbursed.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and revenue reconciliation, rather than technical accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
*Obtain revenue and costing data from multiple finance systems and operational sources
*Proactively liaise with onsite teams (including chefs and operational staff) to gather required information
*Confidently challenge, chase, and resolve missing or delayed data
*Perform revenue reconciliations and maintain clear supporting schedules
*Raise sales invoices and support accurate month-end close
*Extract, analyse, and validate data using Excel (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, formulas) and online platforms
*Provide clear commercial analysis and back-up to support reported figures
*Work to fixed reporting deadlines in a fast-paced, operational environment
Key Skills & Experience
*Experience gathering data from multiple sources (systems and people)
*Strong communication skills; comfortable working with non-finance stakeholders
*Highly organised, proactive, and confident in chasing information
*Strong Excel / Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, formulas)
*Experience working to tight deadlines and managing competing priorities
*Exposure to revenue reporting, invoicing, or reconciliations
Great to Have
Experience in revenue reporting, commercial finance, or management information (MI)
Background in hospitality finance, retail finance, or multi-site operations
Suitable for a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Finance Administrator, or Assistant Accountant level candidate
Additional Information
This role does not require extensive technical accounting experience. The focus is on data collection, reconciliation, revenue analysis, and stakeholder engagement, making it ideal for someone early in their finance career or looking to move into a more commercial finance role.
