Ground Maintenance Operative
Location: Thamesmead, SE28
Salary: £27510
Hours: 35 Per week 7:30am to 3:30pm
The Job
Do you enjoy working outdoors and transforming green spaces into well-kept, welcoming environments? We are recruiting an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative on behalf of our client, helping to keep their estates clean, attractive, and thriving all year round.
This is a hands-on, highly visible role where the impact of your work is appreciated every day. You will be part of a supportive team and will be given the tools and training you need to succeed.
What You will Do
*Carry out scheduled grounds maintenance across multiple estates
*Plant and maintain seasonal flower beds, hedges, shrubs, and turf
*Weed, spray, and perform seasonal leaf clearance
*Operate and maintain a range of manual and powered gardening tools
*Apply and store chemicals safely in accordance with regulations
*Remove and dispose of green waste responsibly
*Assist with landscaping projects and ongoing improvements
*Respond to urgent issues such as vandalism, hazards, or defects
*Follow all health & safety procedures and wear PPE as required
What You will Need *Full UK driving licence (you will be using company vehicles)
*Experience in gardening or grounds maintenance
*Ability to safely operate horticultural machinery and tools
*Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
*Physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
*Basic understanding of health & safety regulations
*PA1 & PA6a pesticide certificates – desirable, not essential
*A satisfactory Basic DBS check

This is a physically active, outdoor role. You must be comfortable working in all weather conditions and confident using powered tools and machinery. A full UK driving license and a Basic DBS check are essential.
