Job Description:
Atomic is delighted to be partnering with a highly innovative Top 20 Firm, looking to recruit a bookkeeper to join their Borehamwood office. With over 30 years of experience, they have honed their skills and developed their service offering to deliver a much wider range of bespoke support and advice to ambitious business owners and their businesses.
Responsibilities:
The role of a Bookkeeper is to provide an excellent service for clients by managing their financial records accurately and efficiently while creating and maintaining strong relationships. This role requires an individual with excellent attention to detail, a positive and professional approach, and a passion for helping businesses thrive. Responsibilities include:
*Conduct daily "on-site" bookkeeping for clients where required or manage remotely as needed.
*Maintain accurate financial records, managing daily bookkeeping activities
*Utilize accounting software to track transactions, such as Xero and Sage, along with tailored app-stacks to enhance efficiency for clients.
*Prepare accurate and timely financial statements showing business income and expenditure.
*Process payments, invoices, income, and receipts while ensuring data is accurately entered into accounting systems or databases.
*Reconcile balance sheets and profit & loss accounts.
*Manage expenses, accounts payable (including credit cards and expenses), and accounts receivable, including credit control.
*Preparing and posting journals for payroll, prepayments, accruals, and fixed assets.
*Process VAT returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
*Prepare and manage weekly and monthly supplier payments.
*Support ad hoc administrative and financial tasks to streamline client operations.
*Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial data
Requirements:
*Proficiency in Bookkeeping and managing Financial Statements
*Experience with Accounting Software and performing Journal Entries
*Strong knowledge of Finance principles and practices
*Excellent organizational and time-management skills
*Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities
*Prior experience in accounting or finance is beneficial
*Relevant certification or qualification in accounting or finance is an advantage
