Job Description:
Finance Manager
Working as part of a small, dedicated team for this growing SME, you will take full responsibility for the company’s financial management, covering both management and financial accounting. This includes delivering accurate monthly reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and leading the year-end process. While the role does include responsibility for stock and inventory-related reporting, it is a genuinely broad Finance Manager position, offering oversight across all core areas of the finance function and providing meaningful financial insight to support business performance.
Key Responsibilities
*Take full responsibility for all aspects of financial and management accounting across the business.
*Produce accurate monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts with clear analysis and commentary.
*Maintain strong balance sheet integrity, including all reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and control account reviews.
*Lead the year-end process, support statutory accounts preparation and coordinate external audit activity.
*Oversee stock and inventory-related financials, including valuations, adjustments, reconciliations and investigations with operational teams.
*Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor working capital requirements.
*Support budgeting processes and provide insightful variance analysis to senior management.
*Manage VAT returns and ensure timely, accurate submissions.
*Oversee intercompany reconciliations and ensure accuracy across multiple entities.
*Oversee payroll processes and ensure compliance with statutory and auto-enrolment obligations.
*Monitor funding and finance facilities, maintaining accurate reconciliations and reporting.
*Act as a key contact for suppliers, auditors, lenders and external advisers, resolving queries and supporting process improvements.
*Provide clear financial insight to support operational and strategic decision-making.
*Prepare statutory, regulatory, funding-related and ad-hoc financial reports as required.

*Experienced in producing management accounts and financial reports.
*Strong in communication, able to work closely with stakeholders at all levels.
*Organised, detail-focused and proactive in driving process improvements.
