Job Description:
Job Requirements
*Ideally 3–5 years of UK payroll experience.
*Experience in an accountancy or bureau environment essential
*Strong IT skills, with the ability to quickly learn new software packages.
*Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and work flexibly.
*Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
*Strong written and verbal communication skills.
*Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a self-starter mindset and high resilience.
*Works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
*Positive "can-do" attitude with a strong desire to learn and develop professionally.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide payroll services for a portfolio of clients of varying size and complexity.
*Process payrolls on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual basis, as required.
*Manage starters and leavers, statutory payments, RTI submissions, pension deductions, and related tasks.
*Set up and cease PAYE schemes with HMRC, acting as the primary contact for all PAYE matters.
*Ensure compliance with auto-enrolment pension requirements, including contributions and portal uploads.
*Prepare BACS files, submit HMRC RTI information (FPS and EPS), and issue P45s, P60s, Starter Declarations, and other statutory forms.
*Liaise directly with clients to ensure payroll data accuracy, resolve queries, and provide ongoing payroll support.
*Support colleagues within the payroll team as a "go-to" resource for guidance and expertise.
*Contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of payroll systems and processes.
