The RoleAs an Assistant Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting the procurement function, ensuring materials, equipment and services are sourced efficiently and delivered on time to support ongoing projects. You will work closely with the Buying Manager, project teams and suppliers to keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities*Raising purchase orders, sourcing materials and obtaining competitive quotations
*Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
*Tracking deliveries, stock levels, lead times and supplier performance
*Updating internal systems and ensuring accurate procurement records
*Supporting negotiating activity to secure cost-effective buying decisions
*Liaising with site teams to understand project requirements and resolve supply issues
*Assisting with general procurement administration and documentation
About You*Experience in buying, procurement or supply chain is desirable, construction industry exposure is a bonus
*Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
*Confident communicator able to build positive relationships internally and externally
*Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel in particular)
*Highly organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
*Keen to develop a long-term career in procurement
