We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistant to join our team in Kent. This role is vital in ensuring that our facilities are safe and well-maintained, directly contributing to the supportive environment we provide for vulnerable children and young adults.
Responsibilities
In the absence of the Maintenance & Administration Manager, you’ll step up to coordinate works, manage property handovers, liaise with contractors, and ensure compliance. This role offers excellent development opportunities for someone looking to gain leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Complete weekly health & safety checks on properties
* Troubleshoot and carry out minor repairs; arrange contractors as needed
* Keep accurate records (maintenance works, keys, inventories, compliance checks)
* Ensure empty rooms/properties are prepared for new occupancy
* Safeguard tools and follow COSHH regulations
* Support administration tasks such as scheduling and ordering materials
About You
* Practical maintenance and repair skills
* Strong knowledge of health & safety
* Organised, with great record-keeping skills
* Confident decision-maker when required to step up
* Professional and adaptable, with good communication skills
