Job Description:
Production Weaver required for our Sudbury based leading manufacturing client. To be considered for this Production Weaver position, you will possess experience of weaving or demonstrated competence in another industry working to a high level of precision and detail, being able to ensure all orders are woven to a standard that enables them to meet and exceed customer’s Quality and Delivery standards in the most efficient and cost-effective way. It is essential for this production weaver position that you are confident working in a fast-paced production environment, possess a key eye for detail, experience in fault identification, diagnosis and problem solving and most of all are a good team player who is keen and motivated.
The role
*Loading designs into the loom
*Responsible for weaving the strike off orders correctly to provide accurate references for production weaving and sales to ensure the orders are woven right 1st time.
*Selecting and threading up the correct yarns for the order
*Responsible for the careful placement of completed orders onto the transport racks
*Weaving orders with careful checking throughout for weaving, yarn or other faults against a standard
*Responsible for running orders with the correct set-up, at the correct speed and efficiency and in the specified sequence in order to meet the production plan.
*Amending and weaving sample orders in such a way as to make them reproducible when woven as production orders
*Correction of weaving issues as they are identified and the repair of broken threads
*This is a shift-based role on an annualised hours plan
The Person
*Most possess some experience of working in a fast-paced production environment ideally within the textile/fabric industry
*Experience in fault identification, diagnosis and problem solving
*Happy to lift and move items
*Ability to read and understand written work instructions to weave fabric to the correct levels of quality and productivity.
*An eye for detail and colour to achieve a high level of quality
*Excellent time management skills
*Aptitude of a good team player, providing positive contributions to production improvements
