We are currently seeking a reliable, experienced Caretaker / Cleaner to join secondary schools across the London Borough of Merton. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming school environment and is looking for a stable, long-term role with room to grow.
About the Role: As a Caretaker / Cleaner, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the school, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, safety, and site maintenance are consistently met. You will be working within a supportive and friendly school community that values professionalism and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities: * General cleaning duties across classrooms, corridors, toilets, and communal areas

* Ensuring the school site is clean, safe, and well-maintained at all times

* Carrying out basic maintenance and reporting any repairs or health and safety concerns

* Opening and securing the school premises as required

* Supporting the smooth operation of the school environment for staff and students

Requirements: * Previous experience in a caretaker or cleaning role (school-based experience preferred)

* Strong understanding of health and safety procedures

* Reliable, punctual, and hardworking with a strong attention to detail

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Commitment to maintaining a positive and professional school environment
