Job Description:
I am currently working with a well esteemed Law Firm in Leamington Spa who has an immediate need for Paralegal - Conveyancing / Conveyancing Assistant for a project.
Job Title: Paralegal - Conveyancing
Location: Birmingham
Contract Type: 3 months (roughly)
Salary: £16.32 per hour - £19.00 per hour via an umbrella company
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 days per week in the office, 2 days from home
Key Responsibilities of a Paralegal - Conveyancing
* Provide day-to-day support to solicitors and fee earners on a wide range of residential conveyancing matters, including sales, purchases, and Right to Buy transactions.
* Open new files, draft initial client care documents, and ensure compliance checks are completed.
* Assist in preparing and reviewing contracts, transfer deeds, completion statements, and other legal documents.
* Carry out searches, review results, and liaise with clients, local authorities, lenders, and other solicitors to progress matters smoothly.
* Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, ensuring all communications are logged and dealt with promptly.
* Maintain accurate case records using the firm’s case management system.
* Prepare files for exchange and completion, ensuring deadlines are met.
* Provide administrative support, including billing, file closing, and other ad-hoc tasks as required.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Previous experience working in a paralegal or conveyancing assistant role, ideally within residential property.
* Ability to manage your own caseload with supervision while meeting strict deadlines.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain legal processes clearly to clients.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail when drafting and reviewing documentation.
* Strong IT skills, with experience using case management systems.
* A proactive, professional, and client-focused approach.
