Job Description:
Finance Officer
*Annual Salary: £33,000 - £37,000
*Location: Clapham Junction, South West London
*Job Type: Full-time, on-site.
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Finance Officer to join the finance team at a prestigious educational institution. This role is crucial for managing all aspects of the purchase ledger, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of purchase invoices, expense claims, and payment runs in accordance with the school’s finance procedures.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Manage the purchase ledger, ensuring prompt processing of invoices and accurate payments.
*Conduct weekly BACS runs, ensuring all invoices are correctly authorised and coded.
*Set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details and relationships.
*Administer all ancillary payments and manage the direct debit schedule.
*Perform daily reconciliation of the Expenses Bank account.
*Monitor the finance inbox and respond to all queries promptly and professionally.
*Assist the Head of Finance with capital project record keeping and budget monitoring.
*Provide support to budget holders regarding their annual budgets.
*Process staff expense claims and credit card reconciliations, ensuring compliance with the school’s policies.
*Maintain an accurate aged creditors report and highlight any issues.
*Support audit processes by preparing key schedules and providing documentation as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*AAT Qualified, graduate level or part-qualified or working towards a professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
*Strong experience in bookkeeping or an Accounts Payable role.
*Excellent financial knowledge including accounting standards and software, and VAT.
*Strong book-keeping skills, attention to detail, and numerical accuracy.
*Good time management, organisational skills, and a high standard of computer literacy, including intermediate Excel skills.
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
