Job Description:
Role Overview The Transport Router supports the Transport Team in planning and coordinating the logistics of waste collection and transportation activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient daily operations, accurate record-keeping, and high levels of customer satisfaction, while maintaining compliance with health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities * Schedule and coordinate daily waste collection routes to ensure efficient operations
* Liaise with drivers to communicate instructions, monitor progress, and resolve operational issues as they arise
* Handle customer enquiries related to transport services in a professional and timely manner
* Promote a positive health and safety culture by following procedures and participating in training and briefings
* Assist with weighbridge operations, including accurate documentation and waste transfer notes
* Represent the organisation professionally across all business activities
Qualifications / Experience * Previous experience in transportation or logistics (experience within waste management is desirable but not essential)
* Strong organisational and time-management skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
* Strong problem-solving skills, particularly when responding to unexpected operational challenges
* Valid UK driving licence
Location & Employment Details * Based at a site in the Colchester area
* Full-time, permanent position
* Monday to Friday, with potential for overtime as required
* Salary negotiable, depending on experience
