Job Description:
Role purpose
This Commercial Banking exists to help businesses thrive - whether they’re scaling up, navigating change, or planning for long-term growth. We support UK businesses with the insight, expertise, and financial solutions they need to succeed in an increasingly digital world.
The Digital Copywriter plays a key role in bringing this purpose to life through high-quality, customer-focused content. This role is specifically focused on Business Banking and is responsible for creating engaging, accurate, and optimised digital content across our owned channels.
Working closely with marketing, product, data, and insight teams, you will help generate content that supports SEO performance, customer education, thought leadership, and business growth. From web pages and campaigns to insight-led articles and guidance content.
Key Responsibilities
*Create clear, compelling, and compliant digital copy for Business Banking across websites, landing pages, campaigns, and content hubs.
*Develop SEO-focused content that improves organic performance, search visibility, and customer engagement.
*Produce insight-led articles, guides, and thought leadership content to support customer education and brand authority.
*Translate complex banking products and services into simple, customer-friendly language.
*Collaborate with SEO specialists, product teams, designers, and digital marketers to deliver integrated content solutions.
*Maintain a consistent tone of voice aligned with brand guidelines and regulatory requirements.
*Edit, proofread, and optimise content to ensure high standards of quality, accuracy, and accessibility.
*Use data, analytics, and customer insights to refine and improve content performance.
*Support campaign planning and content calendars aligned with wider business and marketing priorities.
*Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
*Stay up to date with digital content trends, platform changes, and best practices.
Skills & Experience Required
*Proven experience in digital copywriting, content creation, or content marketing, ideally within financial services, B2B, or regulated industries.
*Strong understanding of SEO principles, keyword research, and search-led content optimisation.
*Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and channels.
*Understanding of user journeys, conversion-focused content, and customer experience design.
*Knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI-assisted content tools, with the ability to use them responsibly and effectively.
*Strong attention to detail, particularly in regulated or compliance-led environments.
*Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, compliance, legal, and digital teams.
*Data-literate, with experience using analytics and performance metrics to improve content.
*Well-organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
*A commercial mindset, with an interest in business banking and how content supports business growth.
*Degree-level qualification in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
