Job Description:
SEN Teacher Needed! Are you an inspiring and passionate teacher with experience in delivering engaging Humanities lessons up to KS3? We are recruiting a dedicated SEN Teacher with a Humanities specialism to join, a well-regarded special school in Mansfield, from after the February half term 2026.
The Academy is a mixed 11-19 special school within a specialist SEND Multi Academy Trust, supporting pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Moderate Learning Difficulty (MLD), where pupils are nurtured to succeed academically, socially and personally. The (Good) Ofsted-rated environment combines structured learning with a caring, inclusive ethos - making it a great setting to make a real difference in young people’s lives.
About the Role As an SEN Teacher in Humanities (e.g., History, Geography, and related areas) you will:
* Deliver creative, well-paced Humanities lessons for KS3 learners with SEND
* Plan and assess lessons tailored to varied learning needs and EHCP outcomes
* Support pupils’ social, emotional and cognitive development alongside academic progress
* Work collaboratively with support staff, parents/carers and the leadership team
* Contribute to a supportive and positive school community
Ideal Candidate You are someone who:
* Holds QTS (or equivalent) with a specialism in Humanities subjects
* Has experience teaching Humanities at KS3 (experience with SEN is highly desirable)
* Demonstrates strong classroom management and differentiation skills
* Is committed to building trusting relationships with pupils and supporting personalised learning
* Is creative, resilient and passionate about inclusive education
