While the Financial Controller leads the Group audit process, this role is responsible for maintaining audit-ready accounting records through robust controls, reconciliations, and strong technical accuracy.
The role works closely with the Financial Controller and key internal stakeholders and provides oversight and first-level review of work prepared by three accountants/finance assistants within the team.

*Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring the integrity and completeness of financial data
*Own and oversee Group consolidations, including intercompany accounting, eliminations, and multi-entity reporting
Foreign Currency & Multi-Entity Accounting
*Ensure accurate foreign exchange revaluations, postings, and reporting in line with applicable accounting standards
*Support the Financial Controller with FX-related analysis and reporting as required
Tax & Statutory Compliance
*Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of all tax filings
*Prepare and review VAT returns for Hungary, France, and the UK
*Manage other jurisdictional filings as required
*Maintain compliance with UK accounting and tax requirements, IFRS, and local statutory regulations
Payments, Controls & Operations

*Maintain strong internal controls across all accounting operations
*Ensure adherence to internal finance policies and procedures
Systems & Process Improvement
*Own and optimise accounting systems, including Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (ERP)
*Support and enhance Esker (purchase-to-pay and invoicing processes), ensuring effective system controls
*Drive continuous improvements in automation, efficiency, and data quality across the finance function
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
*Review team output, provide technical guidance, and ensure deadlines are consistently met
*Respond clearly and promptly to accounting and financial queries from management
*Work closely with payroll providers, HR, and other internal departments to ensure smooth financial operations
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
*Degree-level education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
*Professional accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA)
*Minimum of 2+ years’ relevant post-qualification accounting experience
*Proven experience working in a multi-entity and multi-currency environment
*Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas and data analysis
