We are working in partnership with a well-established accountancy practice based in Manchester to recruit an experienced Accounts Senior. This is a key role within the practice, supporting a portfolio of clients across various sectors. The successful candidate will be technically strong, proactive, and confident, with excellent client-facing and team management skills.
Accounts Senior Duties * Managing a portfolio of clients from preparation of accounts through to completion
* Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
* Handling bookkeeping, VAT, and payroll queries where required
* Reviewing and supervising work of junior staff, providing guidance and training
* Liaising with clients, resolving queries, and providing proactive advice
* Supporting audit and compliance work where required
* Ensuring deadlines are met and work is completed accurately and to a high standard
Essential Experience Required To be successful in your application you MUST have the following:
* ACA, ACCA, part-qualified or equivalent experience within an accountancy practice
* Previous experience within an accountancy practice, ideally with exposure to a varied client portfolio
* Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT, and compliance
* Experience managing or mentoring junior staff
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines
* Confident client-facing and communication skills
* Strong IT skills, particularly Excel and accounting software
