SEND Teaching Assistant - Primary Provision (Leeds LS9)
Are you a compassionate, resilient and motivated individual with a strong passion for supporting children with special educational needs?
Do you have hands-on experience working with SEND and managing challenging behaviour, and are you seeking a long-term, full-time role within a nurturing primary setting?
We are currently recruiting a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary SEND provision in Leeds (LS9). This is a fantastic long-term opportunity to support pupils who benefit from consistency, structure and positive relationships.
SEND Teaching Assistant - The Role:
* Primary SEND provision located in Leeds LS9
* Support pupils with a range of special educational needs and challenging behaviour
* Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions
* Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
* Encourage engagement, confidence and wellbeing
* Assist with learning across the primary curriculum
* Track and support pupil progress alongside teachers and the SEN team
* Help maintain a safe, inclusive and structured learning environment
SEND Teaching Assistant - Key Information:
* Long-term, full-time position
* Monday to Friday, during school hours
* Term-time only
* Supportive senior leadership team and experienced SEN staff
* Positive and inclusive school environment
SEND Teaching Assistant - Person Specification:
* Essential: experience supporting children with SEND
* Essential: experience managing challenging behaviour
* Calm, patient and empathetic approach
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Resilient, proactive and adaptable attitude
* Team Teach training is desirable, or willingness to complete training
* A positive role model with a nurturing and supportive personality
