Reed Accountancy are proud to be working with a company in Leeds who are recruiting a Credit Controller to join their team. This is a full-time or part-time opportunity offering hybrid working. You will be responsible for managing the company’s debtor ledger, ensuring timely collecting of outstanding payments and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
Duties:
*Manage the end-to-end credit control process, including issuing invoices, chasing overdue payments, and maintaining accurate records.
*Contact customers via phone, email, and written communication to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices.
*Investigate and resolve customer billing queries in collaboration with internal teams.
*Assess new customer creditworthiness and set appropriate credit limits.
*Monitor customer accounts and proactively identify payment risks.
*Allocate payments and reconcile customer accounts.
*Prepare aged debtor reports and provide regular updates to management.
*Escalate high-risk accounts and recommend actions such as payment plans or escalation to legal.
*Maintain professional relationships with customers while ensuring firm credit control practices.
*Support month-end processes and audit requirements where necessary.
You will need to demonstrate:
*Previous experience within credit control or similar finance function
*Strong communication and negotiation skills
*High attention to detail
*Confident using finance/accounting system
