Financial Controller
About the RoleA broadcasting agency is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead the global financial operations. You will play a key role in supporting an business that must react rapidly to fast-breaking global developments, while navigating the realities of a rapidly evolving media landscape.
As a core member of a small executive management team, the Financial Controller will work closely with the COO, CRO, and President, helping shape financial strategy, manage risk, and support sustainable growth during a period of significant industry change.
Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Team Management
*Manage and develop a finance team (currently two full-time and one part-time team members)
*Assess existing workflows and recommend improvements as the business grows
*Act as a collaborative, solutions-oriented partner to the wider management team
Financial Control & Reporting
*Lead the month-end close across AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Banking, and Nominal Ledger / Trial Balance
*Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts, including clear narrative commentary
*Ensure timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations, highlighting risks or unexpected items
*Complete US financial accounts and support statutory reporting across jurisdictions
Planning, KPIs & Business Support
*Work with the executive team and department heads to define KPIs and report performance against them
*Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting for Executive Management, Operations, Sales, and other business areas
*Support business strategy in a fast-changing global media environment
Payroll, Tax & Compliance
*Oversee monthly payroll processes
*Liaise with tax advisors and accountants worldwide
*Ensure all global corporate filings and compliance obligations are completed on time
*Manage taxation, cash flow, and financial planning matters
Cash Management & Controls
*Set up and maintain financial controls and approval levels across the company
*Liaise with banking partners to ensure optimal solutions are in place globally
*Act as primary approver for all payments
*Provide cover across AP and AR when required
About You*Proven experience running global financial operations for a fast-paced organisation
*Ideally experienced in broadcasting, media, or a related international content business
*Strong understanding of how global media and news organisations operate
*Comfortable supporting rapid decision-making in response to breaking international events
*Willing and able to travel into London Offices
