Job Description:
My client is a legal services provider within the property sector looking HR Leader / Senior People & Culture Business Partner. This is a pivotal role with genuine scope to build, shape, and embed the foundations of the People function.
In the initial phase, the role will be highly hands-on, focusing on embedding strong HR fundamentals, upskilling the workforce, and ensuring managers have the tools, confidence, and guidance to lead effectively. You will work closely with teams across the business to strengthen core people practices, enhance organisational capability, and foster a supportive, development-focused culture.
Key Responsibilities
*Build and embed the foundational elements of the People & Culture function, ensuring strong, consistent, and scalable HR practices.
*Establish and implement core HR processes, policies, and frameworks to support a growing workforce.
*Lead and manage the full HR remit, providing expert advice across all people matters.
*Develop and deliver HR strategies aligned to wider business objectives.
*Partner closely with senior leaders and managers to build confidence, capability, and effective people leadership.
*Lead on employee relations, managing complex and sensitive cases with sound judgement and a pragmatic, people-focused approach.
*Oversee and develop one direct report (People & Culture Business Partner), ensuring:
*Monthly 1-2-1s are completed
*Quarterly PDPs are in place and actively supporting development goals
*Support the development of clear career pathways and progression frameworks, particularly for junior and developing workforces.
About You
*Proven experience building HR foundations within growing or evolving organisations.
*Strong background in implementing people processes, policies, and frameworks from the ground up.
*Demonstrable experience managing and developing junior workforces, including coaching, capability building, and supporting career progression.
*Confident handling employee relations issues, including complex and sensitive cases.
*Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law, HR policy, and people best practice.
*A pragmatic, hands-on HR professional who enjoys balancing strategic input with operational delivery.
*CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience).
