CNC EDM Wire Programmer Operator
Location: Tamworth
Hours: Dayshift, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Pay: £16.00-£18.00 per hour DOE

The Role
Optima is recruiting a skilled CNC EDM Wire Programmer Operator to join a precision manufacturing client in Tamworth. The successful candidate will operate high-specification EDM wire equipment to manufacture gears, gear shafts, and precision components to exacting standards.
Key responsibilities include:
*Programming and operating CNC EDM Wire machines
*Working from detailed engineering drawings, process sheets, and tooling instructions
*Producing precision components to tight tolerances
*Entering production and job data into the ERP system
*Operating multiple machines as required
*Working with a variety of materials
*Applying strong knowledge of EDM principles, tooling, and material characteristics
*Maintaining quality, accuracy, and safe working practices
About You
*Minimum of 3 years’ trade training or equivalent experience, plus 2-4 years’ relevant machining experience
*Extensive knowledge of CNC EDM Wire machining
*Strong understanding of EDM principles, tooling, materials, and machine shop practices
*Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings
*Comfortable working in a multi-machine environment
*Good communication skills
*Self-motivated with a driven and proactive attitude
