Job Description:
Role Overview:
We are working with a leading pensions and professional services organisation who are seeking a Pension Trustee Director to join their team.
This role involves taking day-to-day responsibility for a portfolio of pension schemes, providing trustee services, and supporting colleagues on projects such as buy-ins, funding discussions, liability management exercises, and corporate restructurings. The role is hybrid, offering flexibility to work virtually or from any UK office.
Key Responsibilities:
*Act as a trustee director on a portfolio of pension schemes, taking day-to-day responsibility for the schemes in your portfolio.
*Provide cover and support for other trustees in accordance with company policies.
*Work alongside colleagues on schemes where multiple trustees are involved, including acting as chair or co-trustee on sub-committees or working parties.
*Support project work with governance, funding, insurance transactions, and service provider reviews.
*Collect and disseminate technical information relating to pension trusteeship.
*Assist in growing and marketing trustee services, including securing new client opportunities and maintaining external relationships.
*Contribute to internal team development, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of practices and procedures.
*Support the culture, values, and growth of the business, undertaking training and development as required.
Skills, Experience & Qualities Required:
*Relevant professional qualifications (APMI, actuarial, legal) and completion of TPR’s Trustee Toolkit or PMI Award in Trusteeship (or willingness to complete within 6 months).
*Existing pensions trustee experience highly desirable, including experience at senior levels in the pensions industry.
*Strong knowledge of occupational pension schemes and the pensions market.
*Commercially minded with business development experience.
*Ability to lead board meetings and work at board level.
*Excellent communication, relationship-building, and client care skills.
*Proactive, solution-focused, and able to work independently.
*High standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
*Resilient, collaborative, and willing to learn and incorporate feedback.
