North West Leeds

If you’re looking for more than a rinse-and-repeat month-end role and want a finance position with genuine breadth, ownership and influence, this one’s worth a look.
We’re partnering with a long-established SME in North West Leeds – a business with strong foundations, steady growth and a leadership team that actually listens to finance. They’re now looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to take full ownership of the finance function and help shape the next phase of the business.
This is a true end-to-end role. You’ll be close to the detail day-to-day while also operating as a trusted adviser to the Managing Director and senior leadership team.
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll have responsibility for the full finance function, covering both operational and strategic elements, including:
*Producing monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, accruals, prepayments and weekly flash report
*Managing cashflow forecasting, budgeting and financial planning
*Overseeing purchase ledger and sales ledger processes, ensuring accuracy, timely payments and effective credit control
*Handling bank reconciliations, posting and managing day-to-day banking activity
*Owning balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining strong financial controls
*Supporting year-end processes and liaising with external accountants, auditors, banks and HMRC
*Providing insight to the MD and wider leadership team to support decision-making
*Identifying and implementing process improvements across the finance function
It’s a broad, varied role where you’ll see the direct impact of your work across the business and have the autonomy to make things better, not just maintain them.
What we’re looking for:
*Strong experience producing end-to-end management accounts
*Background in a similar Finance Manager or Senior Management Accountant role
*Solid grounding in transactional finance (PL, SL, reconciliations, banking)
*Comfortable juggling priorities in an SME environment
*Confident communicator who enjoys working closely with senior stakeholders
*Someone who is happy taking ownership of the function in more of a stand alone role
