Job Title: Interim Finance Controller
Location: Carlisle
Duration: Fixed-Term Contract


We are looking for a highly experienced Interim Finance Controller to join our client’s finance team and take ownership of the finance function during a key period. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior finance professional to make an immediate impact, drive financial processes, and provide strategic insight.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing the day-to-day financial operations of the business

* Preparing accurate management accounts, financial reports, and KPI dashboards

* Leading month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and reporting

* Ensuring compliance with statutory and internal accounting policies

* Driving process improvements, implementing controls, and streamlining finance operations

* Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning

* Acting as a key finance advisor to senior management and stakeholders

* Mentoring and supporting junior finance team members

Candidate Requirements:
* Proven experience in a senior finance role, ideally as a Finance Controller or Senior Accountant

* Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience with management reporting

* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

* Confidence communicating complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders

* Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments

* Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems; ERP experience is a plus

* Highly organised, proactive, and able to take ownership of key financial initiatives
