Job Description:
Recruitment Solutions is working in partnership with our Client to appoint an Accounts Payable Supervisor. With over 30 years’ experience within the Manufacturing and Distribution sectors, our Client has established a strong and highly visible presence across the UK and Europe. Due to continued growth and internal promotion, they are now seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to join the finance team. The Accounts Payable Supervisor will report directly to the Finance Manager and will take full ownership of the end to end accounts payable function.
Accounts Payable Supervisor - The Role
*Lead and oversee the day-to-day operation of the accounts payable function
*Act as the primary escalation point for the Accounts Payable team and key stakeholders
*Maintain strong financial controls while identifying opportunities for process improvement
*Balance hands-on processing with supervisory and leadership responsibilities
*Ensure deadlines are met accurately in a fast-paced finance environment
Accounts Payable Supervisor - Responsibilities
*Oversee high volume supplier invoice processing using a three way matching process
*Complete weekly supplier account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly
*Manage supplier and staff expense payments in line with agreed credit terms
*Build and maintain effective vendor relationships, handling escalated supplier queries
*Liaise with internal stakeholders across the business to resolve invoice and payment issues
*Manage, support and develop a team of Accounts Payable Assistants
*Build strong working relationships with direct reports through effective leadership
*Support ad hoc finance projects alongside the Finance Manager and Finance Director
Accounts Payable Supervisor - About You
*Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Supervisor or Senior Accounts Payable professional
*Strong working knowledge of accounts payable processes, including three way matching
*Experience completing supplier reconciliations and managing payment runs
*Confident leading, mentoring or supervising a small finance team
*Highly organised with strong attention to detail
*Confident communicator with the ability to engage suppliers and internal stakeholders
