Job Description:
A leading UK recycling and waste management business is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to lead compliance and drive a strong safety culture across its operations. This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced H&S professional from recycling, waste, or another technical/industrial environment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading health & safety strategy and ensuring compliance with UK legislation and industry standards
* Conducting risk assessments, site inspections, and safety/environmental audits
* Developing and maintaining safe systems of work and method statements
* Investigating incidents and near-misses and implementing improvements
* Delivering H&S training, inductions, and toolbox talks
* Liaising with regulators and overseeing COSHH, PPE, and health surveillance
Requirements:
* NEBOSH General Certificate (Diploma preferred)
* 3-5 years’ experience in a H&S management role within a technical or industrial setting
* Strong knowledge of H&S legislation including WEEE, RIDDOR, PUWER, and COSHH
Details:
* Full-time, permanent
* Monday-Friday, 07:00-17:00 (47.5 hours)
* Salary: £45,000-£50,000 per annum
* Benefits include pension scheme and on-site parking
