Job Description:
Company
Supporting a global manufacturing business in their search for an experienced Quality Engineer.
The UK operation includes a strategically vital manufacturing and assembly site in the North of England.
This site is unique within the wider group and is undergoing significant investment to support a shift from outsourced manufacturing to in-house assembly, forming a cornerstone of future growth and operational resilience.
The position comes with a competitive package - up to £52,200
Role
This is a hands-on Quality Engineer role supporting the build, set-up, and ramp-up of a flagship production facility following substantial capital investment.
You will play a critical role in embedding robust quality engineering disciplines from day one, influencing factory layout, workflows, and processes while ensuring quality, consistency, and efficiency as production scales. This is not a managerial or purely systems-based role, it requires strong shopfloor presence and practical delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
*Establishing and embedding quality engineering processes
*Influencing factory layout, workflows, 5S, and process definition
*Leading non-conformance management, root cause analysis, and corrective actions (8D)
*Driving assembly quality standards and continuous improvement
*Managing and improving supplier quality across a large and diverse supplier base
*Supporting compliance requirements
*Working closely with Production, QHSSE, Procurement and Supply Chain
Person
You will be an experienced Quality Engineer with a background in manufacturing or assembly-led environments, comfortable operating with autonomy in a standalone role.
We are looking for someone with strong experience in:
*Root cause analysis and corrective action (8D)
*Process improvement and operational quality
*Supplier quality management, audits, and performance improvement
*Interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
