Job Description:
Area Sales Manager – Sign Industry trade sales (North of England) | £35,000 - £45,000 + Commission, Car Allowance & Benefits
We’re recruiting an experienced Area Sales Manager to cover the North of England for a leading UK manufacturer and supplier of sign-making components and systems.
This is a field-based role, ideal for someone with sign industry trade sales experience, living along or close to the M62 corridor.
You’ll be joining a well-established, growing manufacturer at an exciting stage, with responsibility for developing a territory offering significant growth potential, selling sign making components with genuine USPs, and have the opportunity for genuine career progression.
The Company
Established over 20 years ago, our client has grown organically into a multi-million-pound turnover business, and is now a highly respected trade supplier within the sign industry.
Based in the South of England, the company operates from a 40,000 sq ft manufacturing facility, with full in-house capability to design, fabricate and powder coat its own range of sign-making products and systems.
Thier products offer clear USPs over competitor alternatives — easier to assemble, quicker to install, and priced competitively within the market.
Quality, innovation, a can-do attitude, and long-term customer relationships sit at the heart of everything the business does.
The Role – Area Sales Manager (North)
The North of England is home to a large concentration of sign manufacturers. Historically, due to the company’s southern base, this region has not been serviced as regularly as it could be — creating a significant opportunity for growth.
To address this, the business is now recruiting itsfirst dedicated Area Sales Manager for the North.
Your role will focus on developing existing accounts, increasing market share, and generating new business across the region.
This is more than a standard territory sales role. As the first field-based sales person, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape the position, with long-term potential to build and manage a sales team, establish a regional presence, and progress your career as the business continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will:
*Build, nurture and develop relationships with sign manufacturers across the North of England
*Generate sales of the company’s sign-making products and systems
*Follow up and convert inbound enquiries and leads
*Manage and grow existing accounts while actively developing new business
*Increase brand presence and market share within the territory
About You
To be considered for this Area Sales Manager role, you’ll need sign industry trade sales experience, ideally selling products specified by production, project management, or estimating teams.
You’ll also need:
*To be based in the North of England (ideally along the M62 corridor)
*The ability to work remotely and manage your time effectively
*A proactive, self-motivated and consultative sales approach
*A full UK driving licence
*The right to work in the UK
What’s in It for You?
You’ll be selling into a market where the competition are distributors offering similar products, while you’ll be representing a manufacturer with a genuinely differentiated, superior solution, at no extra cost to the customer.
Add to that a territory with existing accounts, strong interest, and substantial growth potential, plus the opportunity to influence the future structure of the sales function.
In return, you’ll receive:
*£35,000 – £45,000 basic salary
*Commission (High earning pottential)
*Car allowance
*Benefits package
*Full product training
*Opportunities for career progression
