Location: Field-based/Remote (UK-wide; can be based anywhere in the UK)
Remuneration: circa.£65k + car + significant bonus package


The RoleAn established leader in industrial products seeks a Business Development Manager to drive nationwide new business growth and strategic account development with larger and blue chip clients.
This is a fully remote, field-based role with national territory, so occasional overnight business stays will be required as part of the role.
You will have the flexibility to work from anywhere in the UK, supported by regular travel to prospective and existing client sites, as well as periodic meetings at the company’s Midlands headquarters (likely 2 days per month).
You’ll take full ownership for winning high-value accounts and building enduring commercial relationships that support sustainable, long-term revenue growth.
Key Duties*Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities with major UK organisations, focusing on large and blue chip clients across industrial sectors.
*Develop and implement strategic sales plans to deliver significant, sustainable revenue growth and market share expansion.
*Build and manage a robust pipeline of qualified prospects using your own networks, market research, and best-in-class business development techniques.
*Lead end-to-end sales cycles: from engagement and sales meetings to negotiation, contract close, and onboarding.
*Present compelling commercial proposals, tailored to client requirements and aligned with organisational margin/risk parameters.
*Maintain strong, strategic relationships with senior decision makers at prospective and existing key accounts, ensuring a consistent and professional client experience.
*Work closely with operations, supply chain, and quality teams to build practical, scalable solutions and implement contract wins smoothly.
*Continually monitor sector trends, competitor activity, and evolving client needs to inform and adapt your sales approach.
*Maintain accurate, timely reporting and forecasting via CRM to ensure clear communications with management and colleagues.
Your BackgroundWe are seeking a high-performing, commercially astute professional with:
*At least 5 years of proven B2B sales, business development, or key account management experience within industrial products or services.
*A track record of securing and expanding relationships with national and blue chip clients—ideally in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, industrial, or regulated environments.
*Outstanding negotiation and influencing skills, with experience managing complex stakeholder relationships at senior/executive level.
*Strong commercial judgement and the ability to balance client needs with margin, risk, and operational delivery.
*Highly organised, disciplined, and self-motivated—confident managing a remote territory and closing significant deals autonomously.
*Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel frequently across the UK.
