DT Technician - Wellingborough Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire

Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with secondary schools in the Wellingborough area who are seeking a reliable and practical Design & Technology (DT) Technician to support their DT departments.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong practical skills and an interest in education to play a key role in supporting teaching and learning in a busy DT setting.
The role: * Preparing materials, equipment, and resources for DT lessons

* Supporting teachers during practical lessons when required

* Maintaining tools, machinery, and equipment in line with health and safety regulations

* Managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and organising resources

* Ensuring workshops and classrooms are safe, clean, and well organised

* Supporting students with the safe use of equipment when appropriate

We’re looking for someone who: * Has experience working in a DT environment (school-based or industry experience welcomed)

* Has good practical skills (e.g. wood, metal, textiles, electronics, or resistant materials)

* Has a strong understanding of health and safety procedures

* Is organised, proactive, and able to work independently

* Has good communication skills and a team-focused approach

* Holds (or is willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS on the update service
