Job Description:
Accountant
*Location: Ipswich
*Job Type: Full-time
*Hybrid working
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our finance team, supporting the Group Financial Controller. This role is integral to ensuring financial obligations and objectives are met within the set constraints.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
*Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and cash flow forecasting.
*Liaise with budget holders to maintain budgetary and financial control.
*Collaborate with the Controller, Finance Director, and Senior Management Team to provide executive reports.
*Prepare monthly management accounts for trading companies and assist the Trainee Accountant with transactional duties.
*Attend and contribute to monthly management account meetings, addressing any queries from budget holders and controllers.
*Coordinate with internal/external auditors, providing necessary schedules, reconciliation reports, and documents.
*Manage daily treasury operations and deputise for the Group Financial Controller during their absence.
*Deliver monthly management accounts for trading companies in line with period end timetables, including account reconciliations, schedules, and variance analysis.
*Ensure consistent budgetary control over arms-length companies, providing regular information to directors and managers, and advising on cost-effective approaches.
*Ensure timely completion and submission of statutory returns as required.
*Actively engage in Business Partnering, working alongside operational managers to ensure financial control and value for money.
*Represent the companies at meetings as necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Extensive experience in financial and management reporting.
*Commercially focused with proven business partnering skills.
*Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising and influencing at all levels.
*Experience in financial/management accounting and reconciliation of financial information.
*Proficient in using financial systems and advanced Excel skills.
*Experience in producing detailed reports and presenting financial information.
*Knowledge of budget setting and best practices in budgetary control is desirable.
