The Opportunity
An award-winning, family-owned group based in North Cumbria is looking to strengthen its finance leadership team with the appointment of a Head of Commercial Finance. This is a newly created role, offering the opportunity to shape and embed commercial finance capability across a diverse and growing portfolio of interests.
You will play a pivotal role in driving profitability, supporting strategic decision-making, and partnering closely with operational leaders to improve performance across the group.
The Role
Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will provide strategic and commercial financial leadership, acting as a trusted business partner to both internal and external stakeholders. This is a highly visible role, combining hands-on analysis with forward-looking insight.
Key responsibilities include:
*Leading the commercial finance agenda across operations
*Partnering with operational and commercial teams to drive margin improvement and cost efficiency
*Delivering detailed margin, pricing, and profitability analysis by site, product, and channel
*Supporting pricing strategy, promotions, and investment decisions with robust financial insight
*Producing high-quality management information, forecasts, and scenario modelling
*Using data to challenge assumptions, identify opportunities, and influence strategic outcomes
*Working closely with senior stakeholders, including shareholders, to support long-term growth plans
*Developing and improving financial models, KPIs, and performance reporting frameworks
