Job Title: Financial Accountant - 6 Month Contract | London
Morgan McKinley are supporting a well-established Legal Services business during an important period of development and are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant for a 6-month fixed term contract.
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused position suited to someone who can step in quickly, maintain a strong control environment, and operate confidently within a busy, commercially focused London finance team.
This role is paying £400 a day (Inside IR35), initially on a 6-month basis with hybrid working available.
Key Responsibilities
*Production of audited financial statements under FRS 102
*Working closely with auditors and international finance teams to ensure a smooth audit process
*Supporting bank covenant reporting
*Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
*Supporting month-end close, management accounts and forecasting
*Partnering with business services leaders to understand financial performance and control costs
*Preparing and reconciling VAT returns
*Managing intercompany reconciliations
*Reviewing and approving payments across office and client accounts
*Producing commission reporting for fee earners
*Working with the tax team on partner matters and ad hoc projects
*Supporting finance improvement initiatives and overseas integration work
Must Haves
*Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with minimum 2 years PQE
*Strong knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS 102
*Excellent Excel skills and strong systems literacy
*Experience working in a fast-paced finance environment with multiple stakeholders
*Highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage competing priorities
*Confident communicator with a proactive, commercial approach
*Experience within a law firm or professional services environment (desirable)
