Job Title: Business Development/Sales Consultant - Solar PV
Location: Orpington (Office-based)
Employment Type: Permanent
Salary: £30-35k
Overview
We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable individual to win, develop, and grow relationships with housing developers and housebuilders. This role focuses on selling Solar PV solutions and associated low-carbon technologies into newbuild residential projects. The successful candidate will take the lead on consultative, specification-led sales, supporting clients in meeting Building Regulations, planning conditions, and sustainability targets.
Key Responsibilities
*Identify, win, and grow new business opportunities with housing developers, housebuilders, and construction partners
*Manage the full sales lifecycle from lead generation through to contract award
*Promote Solar PV and related low-carbon technologies into newbuild residential markets
*Provide consultative, technical guidance to clients on regulations, planning conditions, sustainability objectives, and viable system design options
*Build strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers in the construction and residential development sectors
*Develop client-specific proposals, specifications, and pricing packages
*Monitor market developments, industry changes, and competitor activity to identify new opportunities
*Collaborate with internal design, engineering, and project delivery teams to ensure smooth project handover
Skills & Experience
*Background in construction or residential development (essential)
*Understanding of Solar PV, low-carbon technologies, or renewable energy (advantageous; willingness to learn essential)
*Strong business development and client-facing skills, with experience building and maintaining long-term partnerships
*Consultative sales approach with the ability to support clients through specification and regulatory requirements
*Fast learner with the ability to quickly understand technical solutions and industry trends
*Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
*Highly proactive, self-motivated, and commercially focused
