Job Description:
Management Accountant – 12 Month FTC - Based in London - c£50,000 + Completion bonus
Are you a Management Accountant with experience working in a recruitment business, looking for a 12-month fixed-term contract where you can step in quickly and make an immediate impact?
This role has arisen due to maternity leave and the business is looking for someone who can be genuinely plug-and-play. You will be joining an established finance function within a collaborative and well-run recruitment company, taking ownership of the management accounting responsibilities from the outset.
The role will involve the preparation of monthly management accounts, including full ownership of the month-end process, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis. You will support budgeting and forecasting, work closely with stakeholders across the business, and provide meaningful financial insight to support decision-making. There will also be involvement in year-end processes and audit support, alongside maintaining and improving existing financial controls.
This is a hands-on role and would suit someone comfortable working at pace, managing their own workload and adapting quickly to an existing environment. Experience within a recruitment business is essential, as the successful candidate will need to understand recruitment-specific accounting, revenue recognition and commission structures from day one.
The business is known for its supportive and collaborative culture, with finance viewed as a true partner to the wider organisation. You will work closely with an engaging Finance Director and Head of Finance, both of whom are commercially focused and supportive, offering autonomy and trust rather than micromanagement.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Management Accountant within a recruitment business and will be confident stepping into a maternity cover role with minimal handover. You will be proactive, organised and comfortable taking responsibility in a fast-paced environment.
