People Officer
*Job Type: Temporary, Full-time
*Location: Barnsley S70
*Salary: £14.82 PAYE per hour
*Work Mode: Hybrid
We are seeking a dedicated People Officer to join our DBS Team in Barnsley. This role involves processing ID checks and ensuring compliance with Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS), Recruitment (Rec), and Organisation Management (OM). The successful candidate will provide effective customer service and support the service centre by maintaining accurate data and documentation.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Process applications/forms appropriately for a range of stakeholders in line with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
*Manage efficient recruitment processes, liaising with various stakeholders including schools, public and private sector organisations, and media advertising companies.
*Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of effective systems, procedures, and processes.
*Facilitate and undertake effective online processes, ensuring compliance with legislation and procedures, and reporting concerns as appropriate.
*Ensure comprehensive and accurate data and information is input and stored securely and confidentially in accordance with audit and other regulatory requirements.
*Provide advice, guidance, and support on relevant systems, processes, and procedures to a range of stakeholders.
*Check and process documentation associated with pre-employment checks and employment contracts within required deadlines using appropriate systems.
*Collect, process, and analyse system data, produce management information, reports, and respond to information requests as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Relevant experience in an HR or administration environment.
*Knowledge of procedures and systems related to DBS, Organisation Management, and/or Recruitment & Safeguarding.
*Methodical and diligent, with the ability to manage workload to meet tight deadlines.
*Ability to work on own initiative and collaboratively within a team.
*Working knowledge of Microsoft applications.
*Commitment to studying for HR professional qualifications and membership of a professional body is desirable.
