Commercial Finance Manager (Pricing & Profitability) | Leeds (Hybrid) | £60,000 - £70,000
There’s a lot that gets talked about when it comes to "commercial finance." Some people think it’s just fancy reporting. Others know it’s about getting under the skin of a business - how it makes money, loses money, and everything in between.
This role is firmly in the second camp.
You’ll be the go-to person for pricing, margin, and profitability. The one who can look at a spreadsheet and spot the problem before anyone else even realises it’s there. You’ll sit close to the numbers and the decision-making - working hand-in-hand with the CFO, Commercial Director and Operations Director to make sure the business knows exactly where it’s making (or losing) money.
This is a hands-on, high-influence role - ideal for someone who wants to move beyond analysis and have a genuine say in how the business makes money.
What you’ll be doing:
*Own and develop all pricing and margin models across transport, pallet network and storage.
*Lead commercial analysis that helps shape pricing strategy and improve profitability.
*Build and maintain dashboards and pricing tools in Excel, Power BI and Power Platform.
*Deliver clear, actionable insight for the CFO and Board - not just data dumps.
*Work with senior stakeholders to improve cost recovery, rate structures and margin performance.
*Support contract reviews, pricing governance and commercial negotiations.
*Review and challenge supplier and network costs to protect margin and cash.
What you’ll need:
*Proven senior commercial finance experience - qualified or qualified by experience considered.
*Advanced Excel and Power BI skills.
*Experience with large data set analysis, advanced reporting and insight.
*Strong background in pricing, margin and profitability, ideally within a B2B environment (not essential).
*Confident communicator who can challenge and influence at senior level.
*Analytical, credible and commercially sharp.
