Job Description:
On an exclusive basis, greenwellgleeson are recruiting for a no.1 Financial Controller to join an established and growing business based in Dudley.
Reporting directly into the owner/ founder of the business, this role will have the opportunity to grow into Finance Director over time.
This is a hands on role, responsible for leading the finance function, maintaining strong financial control, and supporting commercial decision-making as the business scales.
Duties of the role will include:
* Managing and developing the finance team
* Overseeing month-end close, management accounts and balance sheet control
* Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
* Financial oversight of multiple sites, including multiple P&Ls
* Commercial analysis of sales and margins
* Making strategic recommendations to the business
* Liaison with auditors and oversight of statutory reporting
* Driving improvements to finance processes and systems
* Working closely with the senior management team to improve overall profitability and growth
* Ad hoc projects within the team and wider business
Skills & Experience
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
* Proven hands-on Financial Controller (or similar) experience
* Multi-site retail experience is essential
* Strong people management experience
* Commercially minded with strong attention to detail
* Ambitious and driven to succeed
