Housing Allocations Officer
Pay Rate: £17.09 - £19.07 PAYE
Job Type: Temporary Contract until 30th April 2026 (Subject to Change)
Location: Maidenhead, SL6
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
Office Attendance: 1 day per Week
We are seeking a dedicated Housing Allocations Officer to join our team. This role involves working with the Housing Register and managing nominations in accordance with the Housing Act parts 6 and 7. The project focuses on updating the register rules, re-banding qualified individuals, and removing those who do not qualify.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Assess applications in line with the Royal Borough’s Allocations Policy.
*Make direct nominations to households on the Housing Register, ensuring compliance with the Allocations Policy.
*Understand and apply homelessness legislation effectively.
*Provide advice and seek solutions for customers regarding their housing situation.
*Deliver an effective and efficient Housing Allocations service to meet the Royal Borough’s statutory functions.
*Manage changes to the register, including re-banding and removal of non-qualifying individuals
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience as a Housing Allocations Officer or similar role.
*In-depth knowledge of parts 6 and 7 of the Housing Act.
*Proficiency in using Jigsaw software. (Essential)
*Strong understanding of homelessness legislation.
*Ability to assess applications accurately in line with policy.
*Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide effective advice
