I am currently on the lookout for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead and support a busy AP team during a period of change. The role focuses on team development, process efficiency, and performance management, ensuring the function operates smoothly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead, develop, and motivate the Accounts Payable team, fostering confidence and collaboration following recent changes
*Responsible for 4 AP Clerks and 2 Supervisors
*Oversee high-volume invoice processing (approx. 1,000 per week) using OCR and manual input where needed
*Ensure timely and accurate processing in line with internal controls and deadlines
*Act as a point of escalation for complex queries and conflict resolution
*Monitor team workload and performance, implementing improvements as needed
*Develop, set, and monitor KPIs to drive efficiency and continuous improvement
*Support a positive team culture and maintain high standards of service delivery
Skills & Experience
*Proven experience managing or supervising a high-volume Accounts Payable function
*Strong people management skills with the ability to build confidence and manage change within a team
*Confident handling conflict and performance issues
*Experience with OCR invoice processing systems
*Knowledge of Unit4 / Agresso or similar finance systems desirable
*Experience developing and monitoring KPIs advantageous
*Strong organisational and communication skills
