About the role:

Our Second Line of Defence (2LOD) Financial Crime team is pivotal in ensuring the Group complies with its sanctions obligations.

The Sanctions Compliance Lead will have a critical role in designing and implementing the Group’s sanctions oversight capabilities and approach, ensuring the sanctions risk is consistently identified and mitigated.

This opportunity isa 12 month FTC

The role holder will be accountable for owning and iterating the Group’s sanctions policies and working with all business areas to ensure its effective implementation. Equally, the focus will be on ensuring sanctions risk awareness across the Group, through training and communications and ensuring that the risk is considered in the design and ongoing operation of our controls. It will also involve leading conversations with 1st line on emerging sanctions risks and appropriate responses.

Location: Coventry and/or Manchester. Team-led hybrid working arrangements apply - up to 3 times a month in the office

Hours: 35 per week, flexible times across 5 days

About you

To be successful in this role we require the following requirements:
Essential: *Significant sanctions compliance experience at a Manager or Senior Manager level, within 2nd line, with a clear track record of achievements
*You’ll have extensive experience of all applicable sanction’s regimes including UK, EU and OFAC
*Significant sanctions compliance experience at a Manager or Senior Manager level, within 2nd line
*Significant experience of applicable sanctions regimes to the Group and the corresponding regulatory expectations.
*Experience of Sanctions policy and standards drafting including insights into peer good practice.
*Insight into and experience of sanctions risk management tools and technology to ensure the Group remains effective in its risk management approaches.
