Job Description:
Credit Controller – Wolverhampton (Office-Based) WV4
Salary: £14.45 per hour
Contract: Temporary – 3-month assignment, could be extended.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm (8 hours per day, 30-minute lunch)
About the Role
We are looking for a friendly, confident, and proactive Credit Controller to join our Wolverhampton-based finance team. This role is central to maintaining an accurate sales ledger, supporting credit control operations, and assisting the wider accounts team where needed.
Due to the nature of the role, intermediate Excel skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Ledger & Credit Control
*Updating the sales ledger and resolving customer queries.
*Managing the collection of outstanding payments.
*Contacting customers when payments become due and explaining their credit terms.
*Assisting with the resolution of historical debt.
*Allocating incoming cash to the sales ledger accurately.
*Recording new queries in the CRM, assigning them appropriately, and ensuring timely resolution.
*Setting up and maintaining customer account files.
*Conducting credit checks.
*Emailing account statements and duplicate invoices as required.
*Producing debtor report analysis.
Additional Finance Support
*Assisting with month-end procedures and reporting.
*Supporting banking tasks and providing general assistance to team members when needed.
Skills & Requirements
*Intermediate Excel skills (essential)
*Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet deadlines
*Knowledge of Sage 200 (beneficial but not essential)
*Strong communication skills
*Excellent problem-solving abilities
*Good time management and organisational skills
*High attention to detail
*Self-motivated and able to work independently
*A strong team player
*Based locally to Wolverhampton
