A leading Defence organisation are looking for a proactive and organised Procurement Officer to join their procurement function in Stevenage.
*Role: Procurement Officer
*Duration: 6-month contract
*Pay: Up to £27 p/hr (Inside IR35 via Umbrella)
*Location: Stevenage
*Working Pattern: Hybrid 1/2 days
In this role, you will manage the full lifecycle of customer repair requests and spares procurement, ensuring seamless communication, timely deliveries, and exceptional supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities:
*Processing electronic and manual requisitions.
*Use of SAP to raise request for quotations (RFQ)
*Creating Excel spread sheets to assess the data to aid supplier selection process.
*Raising of purchase orders within SAP.
*Progressing of orders to ensure on time delivery to the internal customers.
*Purchase order amendment in line with changing delivery forecasts post order acknowledgement.
*Maintain dialogue with internal customer to ensure topical delivery forecast are maintained.
*Liaise with both Bought Ledger and vendors to resolve Invoice queries.
*Data cleansing of SAP to ensure accurate data collection.

Key Requirements:
*Background in Defence, Aerospace or similar environments
*Proactive approach flexible self-starter
*Strong purchasing/procurement experience
*IT Literate - Microsoft Office (Word; Power Point; Excel; Outlook)
*Working knowledge of SAP
*Ability to effectively communicate and maintain good internal/external relationships
*Ability to work under pressure to deadlines in a professional manner
