JOB TITLE: Criminal Defence Paralegal
PQE REQUIRED: 1+
LOCATION: Greater Manchester
SALARY: £25,000+ (DOE)
THE ROLE:
The role involves providing comprehensive support to Solicitors and Fee Earners on a varied criminal caseload. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with cases from police station stage through to court proceedings. Duties will include attending police stations, preparing and maintaining case files, drafting correspondence and legal documents, liaising with clients, counsel, courts and external agencies and ensuring compliance with legal aid and regulatory requirements. The role requires a proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast paced environment.
THE CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year’s experience working as a Criminal Defence Paralegal. Police Station Accreditation is essential. The candidate will have a good working knowledge of criminal procedure and legal aid processes, strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. A professional manner, attention to detail and a commitment to client care are essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate reliability, discretion and a genuine interest in criminal defence work.
