Job Description:
Payroll Officer
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in payroll management, proficient in using systems like ADP and Workday, and who holds a CIPP qualification or equivalent.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Process timesheets and employee expense claims in accordance with company policies.
*Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll data within the HRIS and payroll systems.
*Identify, investigate, and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.
*Calculate and process statutory and company-related leave entitlements including holiday, sick, maternity, and other family-related pay.
*Ensure payroll calculations comply with company policies, contractual terms, and statutory legislation.
*Accurately calculate pay for new hires, leavers, and contractual changes.
*Manage end-to-end pension processing, including enrolments, opt-outs, contribution uploads, reconciliations, and submissions to pension providers.
*Work closely with the Finance team to support payroll-related accounting activities, including the preparation and reconciliation of payroll journals.
*Support monthly and bi-weekly payroll cycles as required.
*Assist with payroll reporting, audits, and statutory submissions.
*Provide responsive and customer-focused support to employees and managers regarding payroll queries.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Minimum 5 years’ experience in payroll administration or as a Payroll Officer.
*CIPP qualification (or equivalent) strongly preferred.
*Experience using Workday and ADP payroll systems is highly desirable.
*Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, statutory requirements, and best practices.
*Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organisational skills.
*Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
*Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
*Proficiency in MS Excel.
*Experience in the healthcare sector and/or working with a majority of shift workforce beneficial/desirable.
