Interim Finance Operations Manager
Day Rate | Interim Contract | Until the end of July
A leading and well-respected organisation is seeking an experienced Finance Operations Manager to provide strong operational leadership across its core finance functions during a critical interim period.
The Role
As Interim Finance Operations Manager, you will have end-to-end responsibility for the effective delivery of finance operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury, and finance systems. You will lead a large and diverse team, act as a senior operational contact for stakeholders, and ensure finance data and processes support confident decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Finance Leadership
* Lead and manage all aspects of AR, AP, Treasury, and finance systems operations

* Ensure smooth day-to-day running of finance operations with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and service quality

Finance Data Leadership
* Own the integrity, accuracy, and security of financial data

* Ensure finance data is fit for reporting, analysis, and decision-making

* Work closely with the central Data Group to enforce data policies, respond to data requests, and deliver reliable insights for planning and performance management

* Lead, manage, and motivate a team of approximately 19 direct and indirect reports

* Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture with a strong service mindset

Operational Controls & Compliance
* Ensure all finance operations comply with relevant legislation, internal policies, and audit requirements

* Maintain and strengthen robust financial controls

Reporting & Performance Management
* Monitor operational KPIs and service performance

* Provide regular, clear reporting to senior management

* Drive accountability and continuous improvement across finance operations

Essential Experience & Skills
* Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent) desirable but not essential

* Experience leading finance operations across AR, AP, Treasury, and finance systems

* Strong subject matter expertise in operational finance processes, systems, policies, and controls

* Proven ability to lead and develop large, diverse teams

* Demonstrable experience implementing and maintaining robust financial controls and compliance frameworks

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels

* Track record of delivering sustainable process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance

* Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving, sometimes ambiguous environment
