Job Description:
SEN Teaching Assistant – Immediate Start
Location: Orpington
Contract: Full-Time, Temporary (ASAP – End of May)
Start Date:ASAP
Pay: Competitive, depending on experience
We are supporting a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Orpington seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. This is a full-time role running until the end of May, with the potential for further opportunities depending on school needs.
The Role
*Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with additional learning needs
*Assist with differentiated activities and targeted interventions
*Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement learning plans
*Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and classroom routines
*Help create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
*Experience supporting children with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH or speech & language needs)
*Calm, patient and nurturing approach
*Strong communication and teamwork skills
*Able to follow guidance while using initiative when needed
*Reliable, positive and committed to pupil progress
*School-based experience is preferred but not essential for the right candidate
