Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Witney, Oxfordshire

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm
An established UK-based engineering and manufacturing organisation is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing R&D team based in Witney, Oxfordshire. This is a newly created role due to continued business growth and offers an excellent opportunity to work on innovative products used in global markets.
The Role Reporting to the R&D Manager, you will work as part of a collaborative engineering team, contributing to both existing and new research and development projects. The role is hands-on and varied, involving product design, testing, and development from concept through to manufacture.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design of new products and redesign of existing products

* Building and testing products throughout the design lifecycle

* Recording and reporting test results, including conclusions and next steps

* Producing bills of materials (BOMs)

* Working closely with other engineering team members to ensure project objectives are met

Skills, Knowledge & Experience * Engineering degree required (mechanical, electrical, or product design preferred)

* Relevant experience in product development

* R&D engineering experience desirable

* Experience using 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred)

* Ability to read engineering drawings and carry out product testing

* Strong organisational, communication, and project management skills

* Able to work autonomously and use initiative, with clear and concise reporting

* Flexible, cooperative approach to teamwork
