Role: Manufacturing Operations Manager

Salary: £47,500 - £52,500
The Role
An established manufacturing business supplying technically demanding products to industrial and OEM customers is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing and production planning.
This is a senior, hands-on role for a proven manufacturing leader with strong operational discipline and a continuous improvement mindset.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead daily manufacturing operations to achieve on-time, right-first-time delivery.
*Own production planning, capacity management, and resource allocation.
*Embed lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement as standard practice.
*Drive improvements in productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost performance.
*Ensure equipment reliability and minimise downtime through effective maintenance.
*Maintain compliance with ISO and customer-specific quality standards.
*Manage procurement, supplier performance, inventory accuracy, and material availability.
*Oversee logistics and dispatch to meet customer delivery commitments.
*Champion health, safety, and environmental standards across the site.
*Lead, coach, and develop production teams to build capability and accountability.
*Monitor operational KPIs and deliver measurable performance improvements.
*Support new product introduction and process scalability initiatives.
Key Experiences
*Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or similar (preferred).
*10+ years’ experience in manufacturing operations manager, ideally in precision engineering, electronics, or similar environments.
*Strong track record of improving quality, delivery, efficiency, and cost.
*Solid knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and ISO 9001.
*Experience using ERP/MRP systems for production planning.
*Hands-on, visible leader with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
